January Selection

Our new book for January is The Scapegoat by Daphne Du Maurier. We will meet on January 25 at Rachael's house.

"Tis the Season"

Our book for December is Two From Galilee by Marjorie Holmes. This is a fictional love story about Mary and Joseph. Enjoy! We will meet on December 14 to discuss it.

New Book!

Our next book to read is Having Our Say: The Delaney Sisters' First 100 Years - a sweet book about 2 sisters who live together and are both over 100 years old. Our book discussion will be at my house on November 16 (a week earlier than usual because of Thanksgiving week). Enjoy! Take note that in December we will meet on December 14 to avoid the Christmas holiday weeks.

Book for October

Our new book is Winter's Tale by Mark Helprin. Livermore doesn't have any copies in their library system, so you will need to request it via LINK Plus through the library. It also has almost 700 pages, so get it quick and start reading! We will discuss the book on October 26 at Julie's house.

Book for September

Same Kind of Different as Me, written by Ron Hall - we will discuss this book on September 28 at Gwynne's house.

Movie Release

August Book Selection

Our new book chosen is Mansfield Park by Jane Austen. We will meet on August 24 at Jessica's home. I am planning on reading the book while basking by the pool in Puerto Vallarta, and then I am going to watch the movie to do a little comparison.

July Book Selection

Our book for August is Austenland by Shannon Hale. I switched a few things around. We weren't able to meet in July because of scheduling conflicts, so we will discuss Man's Search for Meaning by Victor Frankl also. We will meet at my house on Tuesday, July 27 at 10:30 a.m. See you there!

Book for June

With school ending and our summer schedules beginning, try to find some time for yourself. Curl up on a lawn chair outside with a book in hand while watching the kids run through the sprinklers... Our new book for June is Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl. We will meet to discuss it on Tuesday, June 22, at Rebecca's house, at 10:30 a.m.

Book for May

I can't believe I'm talking about May already. Is April almost over? Yikes! Anyway, our new book is The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton. We will meet at Julie's house on May 25 (Note the new day - we will now try meeting on the 4th Tuesday of the month) at 10:30 a.m.

April Selection

Prince Ombra by Roderick MacLeish - unfortunately, this book is not in the Livermore Public Library system, but you can request it through Link Plus : ) Happy Reading! We will discuss this book on April 16 at Gwynne's house.

Movie Production

We read Snow Flower and the Secret Fan back in August, and the movie is now in production in China. Hugh Jackman is playing the lead role! I hope the rating is not "R" and we can plan a field trip to the movies!
